This past week was a busy one, but I found time to meet up with two friends. One I only knew through other people and our corresponding on Facebook. The other, we had meet only once, and again we talked on Facebook.
I need my girl friends... they support me, inspire me, prop me up, kick my butt when needed and are my anchor.
Stacie Florer lives in Asheville NC.. She is a wonderful metal artist. You can find her at Stacie Florer. She is new to our wonderful state and has found a fabulous creative home at The River Arts District. This collection of studios, and stores, and antique shops and restaurants is just where I would want to be if I lived in that town. We meet and talked, and talked and talked. We talked business and family and everything that I needed. A breathe of fresh air!
Thursday I went to Greensboro, and meet a friend for lunch, and on to Laura Guenther's house!
I know Laura because we are both Painting with Fire Instructors. Our style is probably polar opposite, but that doesn't matter in the least! We like to play with fire and enamel. Of course again, I was having such a great time, I forgot to take pictures. Laura is known for her enameled beads with words! They take forever to make and are so cute!!! You can find her work on Etsy at Blue Antiquities.
What did I learn in my visits? To take the time to be inspired, to talk, to listen, to push myself, to accept myself. Find time for your friends. You will be glad you did!
